About the Foundation

The Foundation for Deliberate Slowness was established in 2018. It took longer to establish than we expected. We considered this a good sign.

We are not opposed to speed. We are opposed to the assumption that speed is always optimal. There are activities that benefit from acceleration. There are more activities that benefit from deceleration. We study the latter. We have been studying them for seven years. We expect to continue for some time.
